You should fill out the application first. Then I would go to the financial aid office before I applied for a student loan. They know of 'free money'. This would be FAFSA- government grant, as well as scholarships that are offered.

first off you should apply to the schools that you desire to go to and follow their own applications deadlines. different schools have different deadlines. than when your parents recieve their tax return you should fill out the fafsa (free application for financial aid) when you fill this form out it will ask you if you are interested in loans. but be sure to be aware of application deadlines. because from personal experience... missing them can hurt your chances and eligibilty for aid and loans!

application probably. each college has a different cost. you do not want to take out too big of a loan or too little of a loan.
